Skin doesn’t have to appear dull and dry. Here are 4 helpful hints for brighter, fresher radiant looking skin, year round!

Hydrate
Skip that second cup of coffee and have a big glass of water. Drinking water throughout the day will hydrate your cells, flush toxins and give your skin that healthy glow. Aim for 2 to 3 litres a day. Try adding fresh lemon, ginger, or cucumber to your water; this will help your liver metabolize waste products that trigger skin reactions.

Nourish
Healthy skin starts on the inside. Processed foods, sugars and additives are triggers for inflammation and can lead to blemished, red and irritated skin. Opt instead for fresh fruit, dark leafy green and colourful veggies. Don’t forget healthy fats, nuts, seeds and cold-water fish like salmon are excellent sources of omega-3 fatty acids; and these keep our skin soft smooth and supple feeling.

Dry Skin Brushing
Dry skin brushing can be invaluable, not only in brushing off dead skin cells but also in activating waste removal via your lymph nodes. Dry skin brushing increases circulation, exfoliates, stimulates your lymphatic system (the system responsible for eliminating cellular waste products), reduces cellulite, improves digestion and increases energy. Look for a brush with firm natural bristles. Try brushing before your morning shower. Start at your feet and work your way up, brushing toward the heart with each stroke, avoiding sensitive areas like your face. Use a firm pressure, but make sure it isn’t painful! Your skin should be pink after your session. You can brush for as long, or as little as you’d like, an average session is between 5-10 minutes.

The Vitamin Facial
Dry depleted skin needs a boost. My Skin Boost Vitamin Facial works to restore this antioxidant balance, while adequately nourishing the skin on your face, jaw line, neck and décolleté from within. Microinjections of non-allergenic, pharmaceutical grade hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants stimulate skin metabolism, promote the production of elastin and collagen and provide natural antioxidant protection.
